This notice has come in from the Fan District’s own radio station, WRIR-FM:

The end of WRIR’s Fall Fund Drive is quickly approaching. The drive will end at midnight on Thursday, Oct 11.

You still have time to call and make your pledge to support WRIR, 97.3 FM, Radio for the rest of us. You can donate by (1) calling the station at (804) 622-9747, (2) visiting the station between 10 a.m.-7 p.m. at 1621 W Broad Street or (3) donating online at the WRIR web site.

On the air since January 1, 2005, WRIR is a true community radio station. It is non-profit, locally owned, powered by volunteers and driven by the conviction that voices not broadcast by existing media outlets still deserve to be heard. WRIR produces its own news and talk programming that spotlights information of interest to our community. It broadcasts news programs from NPR and Pacifica. All types of music have a home at WRIR, and all our music programs are created by volunteer DJs and aired live.

Thank you for supporting WRIR, 97.3FM, Radio for the rest of us.
