According to Aaron Kramer at Richmond BizSense Media General is about to pull the plug on Brick Weekly.
“Brick,” which aimed to cover the restaurant, entertainment and arts scene in Richmond will cease publication July 22.
Originally, in 2006, when Pete Humes edited it, Brick struggled but it seemed determined to be a legitimate alt weekly. Once Humes was sacked, almost three years ago, the goal seemed to change.
But to what? Who has been reading Brick Weekly in the last couple of years? It has amazed me that in such lean times Brick continued to come out every Thursday.
