This message came in from Tricycle Gardens, a community garden organization that is now trying to help launch a garden project in the Carver neighborhood.
We’re off to a great start, but now we need a bit of help — the city has agreed to waive the $2000 connection fee to the water main, but we need the help of a plumber to install the required backflow repeater, spigot, and etc., so that we can actually use the water from the connection. It seems like this is a job that is out of reach for your average DIY’er, but someone who has advanced plumbing knowledge (or actually works as a plumber) could do it. The quote we received was around $3500 for parts and labor, which is pretty steep for a non-profit entity.
This group needs a civic-minded someone to step up who’s willing to help do the job for a more friendly price. If the reader can help they should contact Lisa Taranto (lisa@tricyclegardens.org) for more info.
