O’Sullivan through at VCU

The Virginia Commonwealth University Athletic Department announced that the contract of Men’s Soccer Head Coach Tim O’Sullivan will not be renewed for next season.

O’Sullivan spent 15 years on the Black & Gold sidelines, compiling a mark of 148-118-35. His best times came during the three-year span between 2002-2004, when he guided the Rams to three straight regular-season titles in the CAA and posted a 22-3-2 mark in conference contests. In 2004, the Black & Gold went 12-5-3 and made an unforgettable run into the Elite Eight of the NCAA Championship.

VCU was one of five schools to be a national seed in the NCAA tournament in each of those seasons and earned an NCAA bid six times under O’Sullivan. Prior to coming to VCU, he spent 12 seasons at the University of Richmond, where he registered a 115-108-25 mark.

In 25 years of head coaching at the Division I level, O’Sullivan holds a record of 263-226-60. A search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
