Looking at Art and Alzheimer’s

The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and the Greater Richmond Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association will host a talk, “Looking at Art and Alzheimer’s,” at 5:30 p.m. Thur., Nov. 8, in the museum’s Pauley Center. November is National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month.

The speaker will be Amir Parsa, project manager for the MoMA Alzheimer’s Project: Making Art Accessible to People with Dementia, a nationwide expansion of the Museum of Modern Art’s outreach program for people with Alzheimer’s and other dementia and their caregivers. The New York City museum’s pioneering Alzheimer’s project was begun in 2006 and has brought more than 1,500 people to the museum for interactive tours of masterworks from the collection.
