A wild deer accidentally penned and partially disabled behind a Fan District home avoided being shot to death yesterday evening by a matter of seconds. The large buck, sporting a full rack of antlers, bounded over a 6-foot fence and sprinted down an alleyway just as a Richmond police officer armed with a long gun drew a bead on the wayward animal from a second-story porch.
