How did your father start his own coffee business?
In 1979, the truth is, he became a single father with two pre-teen girls. My mom lived in Newport news and his parents lived in Baltimore so he kind of wanted to put it somewhere in between the two so we settled in Richmond and then he had a hard time when people wouldn’t hire him so he thought he’d go back into business for himself and he ad a friend that owed him a favor in the coffee business so he started a coffee shop…
