100 years of West Grace celebrated

Writing for Richmond.com Kent Jennings Brockwell documents 100 years of the history of West Grace Street, between Lombardy and The Boulevard.

…From the time the land beyond Lombardy was annexed by the city in 1892 until the present day, West Grace Street has gone through various changes and massive waves of reinvention that have largely been overshadowed by its monument-studded cousin one block to the south.

This weekend, however, West Grace Street homeowners and members of the West Grace Street Association are gathering to celebrate their street’s 100 years of change, longevity and reinvention. On Saturday night, residents are gathering at Grace Park, a newly created green space near Allen and West Grace streets, for a black-tie shindig with live music, gourmet delights and general revelry all around.
